Don Norman

Don Norman was founder of the Design Lab at UC San Diego, a Vice President at Apple, and co-founder of the Nielsen Norman Group, He has three honorary degrees, is a member of the National Academy of Engineering, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and received the Sir Misha Black Medal for Distinguished Services to Design Education. His books include Design of Everyday Things, and Design for a Better World. His charity https://dnda.design, rewards practitioners and educational groups doing humanity-centered design.

Katherine Ellison

Katherine Ellison is a Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, former foreign correspondent, and author and co-author of 12 books, including “The New Economy of Nature: How Conservation Can be Profitable.” She writes frequently about energy and climate change, including a story last April  for the Washington Post about switching her home appliances to electricity, and this major report for the Boston Foundation last year about efforts to electrify small buildings in Boston. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
